The focus of our Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) efforts is to help provide the future generations of Puerto Rico with the tools to improve themselves. Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said, "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."
BDO believes that through its involvement in local communities, it can contribute to a culture of healthy, hopeful young adults in Puerto Rico. It is vital to engage in a variety of activities to encourage an active mind. That is the reason why we are focusing our efforts in the community members between 12 to 21 years of age, so we can empower young people to become engaged and effective citizens.
We divide our efforts in three (3) major areas:
- Volunteering service projects
- Monetary donations
- Awareness about the accounting profession to address the lack of college students majoring in this field. Each year #BDOCares grant scholarships to those high school seniors interested in accounting as a career path.
