Ryan Marín is currently the Shareholder in charge of the Audit Division with more than 15 years of accounting and audit experience. His work includes expertise with Securities Exchange Commission filings, initial public offerings, and compliance with regulatory bodies. Mr. Marín has led and performed Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) audits and has extensive experience with restatement and restructuring projects. Mr. Marín’s main focus is always on quality oriented work. He is capable of evaluating risks, assess sufficiency of controls, identify process improvement opportunities, and effectively communicate areas of risks and opportunities to top management.
Mr. Marin was hired by Scherrer Hernández, now BDO in Puerto Rico, P.S.C., as an audit manager in September 2000. In 2005, Mr. Marín became a Shareholder and the Head of the Audit Department. Thereafter, Mr. Marín became the Managing Partner in August 2007 and held that position until Mr. Scherrer’s return in August of 2009 remaining primarily as the Firm’s Head of the Audit Division.
Mr. Marín started his career in the international accounting firm of Price Waterhouse “PwC” (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP). During his years at PwC he acquired expertise in the financial services, manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications and government industries.
During his collegiate career, Mr. Marín was a recipient of the Robert Jeffrey Chernis Scholarship and the National Collegiate Business Merit Award.
